Day 151: May 31, 2011

My throat didn't hurt this morning when I woke up, but it still feels a little funny.  I'm definitely fighting something off.  Ugh.  Bad timing, as always.  I'm so tired of being sick!!!

Picked up my script for The Sound of Music today and auditioned for the chant solo at the beginning of the show.  Despite being sick, I think I sounded pretty good!  Guess we'll see!

Day 150: May 30, 2011

Woke up still feeling sick (stupid sore throat!!) but went to work anyway.

I was supposed to go up to the mountains to meet the fam, but the wind was bad up there so they came down early.  We spent the afternoon at my parents' house.  Got some quality cuddle time with sweet little Benji!  All the kids are crazy maniacs....I wonder where they got that from?  Hmmmm....

Day 149: May 29, 2011

Good day at church.  My take-a-way (even though no one said this exactly) was that we are here on earth for 80-odd years of school, not on a vacation from heaven.

Spent the afternoon watching my new TV show obsession (not quite obsession, but bordering) MI-5 (A British spy drama known as "Spooks" in the UK.)  Thank heavens for Netflix Instant Viewing!!!

Starting feeling a little sick later in the afternoon.  Stupid sore throat.  Why am I getting sick AGAIN?!

Day 148: May 28, 2011

Today was a good day.  I got a lot of stuff done.  Oil changed in the car, cleaned the bathroom, made a whole pot of taco meat that will last me a month or more. 

Babysat the kiddos tonight so that Craig & Robin could go see "The King and I".  George was great, the girls were pills.  Those kids are maniacs!!!  Good thing they are cute!

Day 147: May 27, 2011

Just another day at work.  I finished Season 4 of LOST.

Went to Emily's dance concert tonight.  It's cute to see a bunch of little girls flocking around the stage like ducklings.  :)

Day 146: May 26, 2011

Left a little early for work today and went to Kohls.  I had ordered some flip flops online (because they didn't have the color I wanted in my size at the store).  I ordered the wrong size.  They were just a little too small.  There wasn't a way to exchange them through the mail, so I tried the store.  They did the return but then I had to call to get the new size ordered and the discount I had gotten to apply.  Turned out that they didn't have the correct size at all!  Oh, well.

Work was quiet today.  I was able to watch four episodes of LOST!  The phones are usually pretty dead on Thursdays, but today was worse.  Weird!!

Spent more quality time at the copier at Office Depot tonight.  Hopefully I won't have to do that again for awhile!  But all the music is ready for the Gala...at least for the singers.  I have to deal with the music for the accompanists next. Oy.

Long day.  I worked for 9 1/2 hours.  Ugh.

Day 145: May 25, 2011

I have been spending way too much time at the copy machine at Office Depot lately.  I really don't like it.  I'd much rather go to Kinkos.  But it's cheaper at Office Depot.  Ugh.  But I had fun flirting with the guy working in the copy center today!  I worked a lot of hour for LOT on Monday and today (more than usual), and I'm not done yet!  Soooooo many copies for the Gala!!

Tonight was the first rehearsal for The Sound of Music.  Not really a rehearsal, just an informational thing.  The scripts aren't in yet.  But we're ready to get started!  It's going to be a great show!  I'm looking forward to a fun summer with my UIL buddies!

Day 144: May 24, 2011

Worked at the theater today and then went to the Rockies game!  We were afraid that it was going to rain at the game, but it didn't.  It was actually quite pleasant.  Just a little bit chilly, but no wind, so it was bearable.  The Rockies lost, though.

Aside from the loss, it would have been a great day if I hadn't have been pulled over for speeding right before I got home.  Ugh.  Totally can't afford to pay that ticket right now.  Boooooooo!!!

Day 143: May 23, 2011

Worked for LOT today.  Spent several hours at Office Depot making copies.  I'm surprised I didn't make the copier explode.  I made a TON of copies!!!  AND I'M NOT DONE YET!!!!

Day 142: May 22, 2011

Church today!  Choir went well.  Actually had a full choir!  Wasn't big, but we had all the parts.  Stayed after for potluck!

We had dinner for Neal's birthday.  It was nice enough to sit out on the back porch!  Yay for Spring finally arriving!

We taught the girls how to play Bocce.  They actually caught on quite quickly.  Now to impress upon them to stay out of the way of the flying balls!

We had a fire and we wanted to roast marshmallows, but there weren't any.  We did, however, find some Marshmallow Peeps.  Close, but not quite the same.  The sugar burned extra fast and was slightly bitter to the taste!  But it was funny to see the little bunnies roasting over the fire!

Day 141: May 21, 2011

What a day!!!  We had a double at the theater today, so I had to work in the box office.  I don't normally work on Saturdays.  But the main problem was that it was graduation day, so most of the bussers couldn't work.  AND The King and I is 3 hours long, so we had exactly 1 hour to clean up the house and reset it for the evening performance.  ALL HANDS ON DECK!!!!  I stayed and helped, Amanda came to help, Neal & Shauna helped out.  We got it done in half an hour!!!  GO TEAM!!!!!

I went to my friend Leo's graduation party.  I know quite a few kids that graduated this year and it just doesn't seem possible that they are old enough to be graduating!!  I feel so old!!!

Day 140: May 20, 2011

Worked all day, then dressed up as a pirate to go see the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie!  Had a great time this evening!!

Another day of rain.  It was pouring when I left work!!  Crazy amounts of water!!  And I bet it won't rain all summer long.

Day 138: May 18, 2011

It pretty much rained all day today.  Since when did we move to Seattle?  Neal says it's very England-like weather.

I worked at the theater today.  Then I went to Juliana's to work for LOT for awhile before my lesson.  I was supposed to go out to the Metrolux to get our tickets for Pirates on Friday.  I got away from the theater later than I wanted, so I didn't make it out to the Metrolux until after my lesson.  I got there at about 8:15.  All of the doors were locked!  The last showing of the day was at 8 and then locked the doors after that!  I was so mad!  I had driven out there, in the rain, skipping dinner, and now I couldn't get in to get the tickets.  I have to drive back out there tomorrow!  I'm not paying an extra dollar per ticket to order them online.

SO ANGRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, and I finished reading "The Hunger Games" today.  What a disturbing book!!

Day 137: May 17, 2011

Had a funny conversation with the people working at Dazbog about words that are now acceptable for Scrabble.

Worked at the theater all day, then went shopping at Kohls.  (I had a 30% off thing...can't let those go to waste!!)

Neal & Amanda got home and we went over to  help them open all of their wedding presents!  They got some cool stuff!!!

Day 136: May 16, 2011

I went grocery shopping at noon today.  I should go at that time of day more often.  Not a lot of people there!  I usually go at like 4:30 or 5 pm and it's a zoo!

Worked for LOT today...and stayed late.  Made for a long afternoon.

I have officially been cast as Frau Schmidt in "The Sound of Music" with Up in Lights.  Rehearsals start next Monday!

Went to all of church today for the first time in over a month!

Family dinner this afternoon.  It was a belated Mother's Day.  (We waited a week, since Peggy & Henry are here.)  Yummy food all made by the boys!  (The men in our family are good cooks!  We should make them cook more often!)

Day 134: May 14, 2011

For all intents and purposes, I did nothing today.  Okay, I changed my sheets.  I took out the trash.  I ran the dishwasher.  I did a load of laundry.  But other than that?  I watched a couple of movies and some TV...and just RELAXED.  Soooooooooooo needed the relaxation!!!!!!!

Just so you don't think I was totally lazy...I walked to the mailboxes to get the mail today.

Day 133: May 13, 2011

Today was the wedding day!  And a beautiful, sunny day (after 2 days of rain.)  I now have another sister-in-law!!!

It was a loooooooooooong day.  So tired now.  Luckily, I have nothing to do tomorrow.

Day 132: May 12, 2011

I worked for LOT this morning and then headed down to Longmont.  Time to set up for the wedding reception!  We also got our nails done.  I have purple nail polish!  Fun stuff!

After we got as much set up as we could, we headed back to Loveland.  Peggy & Henry are here for the wedding.  We had dinner at Grandma & Grandpa's house.

Then we went and watched tonight's episode of Bones.  I am so mad!  They killed off my favorite Squintern!!!!!!!  HOW RUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Day 131: May 11, 2011

Worked again today.  It's so hard to talk on the phone!!!!!!!!!  My tongue is getting better, but I still have a ways to go.

Tonight was the Bachelorette Party.  We went to Jump Street in Northglenn and then to Buffalo Wild Wings.  I had 2 different flavors of boneless wings.  Honey BBQ and Garlic Parmesan.  Yum!!!

Day 130: May 10, 2011

I had to go to work today, because I didn't feel sick.  Sure, I can barely talk and I'm in a lot of pain.  But I had to go to work.  So I spent the day talking on the phone.  Not the best way to get over this stupid cold sore.  But what could I do?  It still hurts like heck and it could possibly take a week to heal!  NOT FAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Day 129: May 9, 2011

I had to work today, despite my mouth still driving me crazy.  I had a meeting at 10, then I had a hair appointment from 12 to 2.  Then I worked until 5.  Then I decided that I wouldn't be able to sing for my "Annie Warbucks" audition, and I couldn't get through on to the theatre on the will call line.  So I drove out there and talked to the director.  Hopefully, I'll be able to sing either Tuesday or Wednesday.  (The director is the ONLY one on the production staff who has never heard me sing.  Of course.)  Then I went to Urgent Care.  It's so much fun to play "Stump the Doctor".  They think it's a cold sore on my tongue, but they aren't 100% sure.  So they put me on an antiviral drug and gave me Lidocane to put on my tongue to help with the pain.  Hopefully it'll clear up soon.  Neal's wedding is Friday!!!!!!!!

Day 128: May 8, 2011

I think I spent too much time in bed this weekend.  My joints hurt.  And my tongue hurts.  What the heck!?  Did I bite it?  I have no idea.

I barely made it through the callbacks for The Sound of Music.  I had no energy and I could barely talk (thanks to my stupid tongue.)

Ugh...why me?

Day 127: May 7, 2011

I woke up with a bad headache this morning.  I managed to get my laundry done, but I went back to bed for most of the day.  I ended up throwing up 3 times.  Not how I had planned to spend my day!!!  Now, for some unknown reason, the right side of my tongue is all swollen, like it has a bunch of canker sores.  It hurts to eat and talk!  GRRRRRRR!!!!!  I couldn't sing at the recital tonight, but I have to go to call backs for "The Sound of Music" on Sunday.  And auditions for "Annie Warbucks" on Monday!!!

Frustrating day at work today, at least in the morning.  The servers were having problems at the company that does our online ticketing...and they didn't tell us.  So we fought with the computers all morning.  Grrr....

Somewhat uneventful day.  I worked.  And then worked again.  Had a voice lesson.  (My voice is suffering after my most recent sinus infection.  Grrrrrr.)

Day 123: May 3, 2011

Shauna and I went down to Denver tonight after work.  First, we had dinner at the Rockbottom Brewery with our good friend Kristi Siedow-Thompson.  It was great to see her!

Then we went to see 9 to 5: The Musical at the Buell.  What a hilarious show!!!  I love the movie, but the musical has its own special flair and hilarity.

Day 122: May 2, 2011

Today Shauna and I went down to Melanie's so that we could practice our flute/harp duet for the Ring Ceremony.  (Shauna came along to play with Lily so we could practice uninterrupted.)  We are playing Pachelbel's Canon.  It's going to sound great!

Then we met Mom & Amanda in Longmont and went out to lunch for Amanda's birthday.

I never got a call, so I did not make callbacks for "Quilters".  It's a bummer, but just as well.  It's a bad drive to Bas Bleu from my house.  And I'd rather do that show with Jalyn as Sarah!

Craig and I made callbacks for "The Sound of Music" but Emily did not.  That's the real bummer.  She would be an adorable Gretl!  Oh, well.  She's more of a Brigitta and Rebekah is Gretl.  Maybe someone else will do the show in about 3 or 4 years!

Day 121: May 1, 2011

Today was Ben's Blessing Day, so we went up to Wellington for that.  Then we went over to Craig & Robin's house for dinner.

But the big news of the day is that apparently Osama Bin Laden is dead!  10 years in the making...they finally got him!

Day 120: April 30, 2011

I went up to Fort Collins this morning for another audition.  I auditioned for "Quilters" at the Bas Bleu Theatre.  I think I did okay.  I forgot the end of my song, but the nice thing about doing an a cappella audition is that if you forget the end, just stop and pretend it's the end!

I ran a few errands around town and then Shauna and I went to see "Jane Eyre" at the Lyric Cinema Cafe.  Good movie!!!
