Day 59: February 28, 2011

I'm starting to regret having the idea to do this blog.  I do the same stuff all the time.  My posts are all the same.  "I worked today."

Guess what...I worked today.  Whoopee.

Hopefully something fun and exciting will happen soon so that I have something actually interesting to report.  I apologize for anyone reading this.  I lead a very boring existence.

Day 58: February 27, 2011

Went to church, choir sang well (even though we were small in numbers!), got my visiting teaching done for the month, went home, went to my parents' house, cooked dinner (Cranberry Chicken!!!), watched the Oscars, watched The Amazing Race, finished the Oscars, went home!

Good day!

Day 57: February 26, 2011

A lazy morning...my favorite!  Watched movies and did my laundry.  Went to George's birthday party tonight.  I can't believe he's already 2!!!!  Time flies!

Day 56: February 25, 2011

Big snow last night!  Had a HORRIBLE drive to work.  Why does it always snow on days I have to drive out to the Candlelight?  Can't we have a big storm when I'm staying in town?  Sheesh!

We got the bridesmaid dresses tonight.  Now onto the hunt for purple shoes...

Day 55: February 24, 2011

I finished another counted cross stitch today.  This one only took me 10 days, as opposed to one before that took a couple of months.  (This one was loads smaller!)

Here it is:

Day 54: February 23, 2011

I slept in past 9 am this morning.  Can I just tell you how heavenly it is to do that?  I'm not sure which I want more:  another job so that I can make more money, or the opportunity to still sleep in that late a couple of days a week.  I need the money, sure, but the sleep?  Loving it!!  I haven't had to set my alarm in months.  I think alarms are a shock to the system.  I'm much happier without one!!

Day 53: February 22, 2011

Today I went over to Mikeal's house and he helped me to transfer this video from VHS onto the computer and onto YouTube:

This is me singing the National Anthem at a UNC Football Game on November 6, 1999!!! Wow, time flies!! I can't believe this was almost 10 1/2 years ago!! Oy to the vey!

Day 52: February 21, 2011

I started doing the Facebook 30 Day Challenge on my main blog.  Which means I'm probably going to forget to blog here.  Maybe I should have done the challenge on here.  Whoops!

Day 51: February 20, 2011

I woke up with a massive headache this morning.  I still had to go to church because of choir practice and because I was playing the organ today.  But I left after Sacrament Meeting.  After a short nap this afternoon, I am feeling much better!  I laid low for the rest of the afternoon/evening.

Day 50: February 19, 2011

Today was a good day!  I had the TV on earlier in the day, just watching Snowboard Cross (because there was nothing else on) and a commercial came on for what was showing next..."Riverdance on Ice"!  I love Riverdance and I love watching figure skating.  The two worlds collided and it was a really great!  I enjoyed watching it very much!!  (And now I don't have to pay $40 to see the regular show in Greeley next month.  Although, I was going to take the girls.  But it's just too expensive!!)

I went to see "The Fantasticks" at the Union Colony Dinner Theatre tonight.  What a great show!  It was fun that I knew (and have worked with) over half the cast.  It was wonderful!!!

Day 49: February 18, 2011

I got home really late last night and I didn't want to fire up my computer, so I waited until today to post this.

I went to the temple with my ward to do baptisms.  I didn't actually do any baptisms, but instead was one of the helpers.  I took the wet clothes back in the girls locker room.  It was wonderful to be in the temple and be serving, even if I got a little wet.  :)

Day 48: February 17, 2011

Worked today for over 9 hours, between my two jobs.  So tired!!!  If I could do that every day, I could make more money.  But I'd go nuts.  So it won't happen.  Ugh....but I need more money.  GRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!

I also finished watching the 7th and final season of "Gilmore Girls" today.  Up next, I think it's time to revisit "Lost".

Day 47: February 16, 2011

I had a voice lesson today.  My low range is not great, thanks to the bronchitis.  And now my high range is not great because of reflux.  I have to go back on Prilosec.  I got the 14 day treatment of the generic brand.  So we'll see if that improves things.  I hate how I end up with so many health ailments that directly affect my singing.  NOT FAIR!!!!

Day 46: February 15, 2011

I got two days behind!!!!  How did that happen?!?!  No idea.  Wait, I do.  I discovered "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego" on Facebook.  And I finished a large cross stitch project.  Behold:

Day 45: February 14, 2011

The dreaded Valentine's Day.  Nothing is more depressing than being single on Valentine's Day...again and again.

I got 3 Valentines this year.  The first was from Emily.  That came in the mail on Saturday.  She made it herself.  (She's almost 6.)

The 2nd was delivered today.  It was a molten chocolate cake (made by my aunt and uncle) from my parents.  I ate it before noon.  (I ate lunch first.)

The 3rd was an e-mail from my co-worker Bobbi.  It was a Valentine from Madison, her new baby.  Cute pictures of Madison in a little V-Day outfit.

That was it.  And you know what?  I'm good.  The main thing that I don't like about Valentine's Day is that people go over the top to say I Love You.  They really should be saying it all the time.  Then Valentine's Day wouldn't be such a big deal.  But hey, what do I know?  I've only been single for the past 12 years.

Day 44: February 13, 2011

Not a whole lot to report for today.  Went to church, came home, watched movies, cross stitched.  It was a relaxing day...except for the sinus headache that paid a visit later in the day.

Day 43: February 12, 2011

I played the piano at a baptism this afternoon.

I did NOT go to the Single Adult Valentine's Dance.  I don't like dances.  That's all there is to it.  I didn't want to go.  Sure there was dinner first.  But I didn't RSVP, and I ended up having the chance to play with my nieces and nephew tonight.  I never pass that up if I can help it!

If Mr. Right is going to find me, he better not be looking at a dance.  There's a strong likelihood that I won't be there.  Just sayin'.

Day 42: February 11, 2011

The audition notice went out today for "Big River."  I'm going to audition.  I really want to be in a show at the Candlelight.  It's fun to work in the box office, but I want to be onstage!  Guess we'll see.  If this one doesn't work out, I will probably audition for "Carousel" at Jesters.

Day 41: February 10, 2011

This is what totally made my day today:

I was working at the Candlelight and an older lady called to make her reservations.  I ended up being on the phone with her for awhile, because of a confusing way her season tickets had been set up.  During the course of our conversation, she told me that the last time they had come, she had had some trouble sitting in our chairs for so long.  Now, you must understand that our chairs are VERY comfortable.  But she just needed a little more support (I didn't ask why.)  She said that after that, she told her husband "I can't give up going to the dinner theater, so I need to get a motorized chair."  And she did!

The world needs more people like that.  Her health made it difficult for her to come to theater.  Instead of staying away, she adapted so she could keep coming!  LOVE IT!!!

Day 40: February 9, 2011

I am currently working on my biggest cross stitch project to date.  It's much larger than any I have ever done.  Upon completion, it will be 11x10 inches.  (I think I did another one time what was close to that size, but there was much less detail to it.)  Right now I'm doing the backstitching, which is my least favorite part of cross stitching.  When there is a lot of it, it's incredibly tedious.  And there is a lot of it in this one.  Ugh.

Here is a preview of the project:

Day 39: February 8, 2011

Another snowy day.  Looks like winter finally decided to arrive and stick around for awhile!

I watched the movie "Encino Man" tonight for the first time in years.  Man, I love that movie.  It's so dumb, but it's just so dang funny!  "Aw, Daaaaaaaaave."

Day 38: February 7, 2011

So last I week, I impressed Juliana by looking at my iPod and listing off several good male/female Musical Theatre duets.  She wanted to know if I had a list or something so I could come up with them that quickly.  I really was just looking through my Musical genre, seeing show names, and listing off the good duets from them.

I used to have a spreadsheet on my computer that was a list of all the MT duets I knew of.  I don't know what happened to it.  So I started a new one tonight.  Just with my iTunes alone, I came up with a list of 87 duets.  No just male/female, but all kinds.  And that's JUST from my own collection.  I now have to go through musicals that I don't have on my iPod and add to the list.  Then I think I will sell it.  :)  My extensive knowledge of show tunes has to be good for something, right?  How about MONEY?!

Day 37: February 6, 2011

Today was the Super Bowl.  I don't care about football and I really don't care about the Green Bay Packers and the Pittsburgh Steelers.  But I watched the game anyway.  Namely, I watched the commercials.  We all went to Steph's house, had yummy food, played with adorable children, and watched the game.  Fun evening!

Day 36: February 5, 2011

Shauna and I went to the temple today.  She said that I either had to drive down there or drive home, because she needed to work on her lesson for Relief Society tomorrow.  Since I was the one who had watched the weather forecast for the day, I said that I would drive down there.  Clear.  Dry Roads.  Sunny.  When we left the temple at 1:00 pm:  SNOWPOCALYPSE!!!  Crazy snow storm all the way to Veronica's house and then from there all the way to a couple miles north of CO 7.  I win!

Day 35: February 4, 2011

Today I drove all over town delivering some things for LOT (Loveland Opera Theatre).  After the first place, I blew through a stop sign without even stopping.  I was halfway through the intersection before I realized that I had done that.  And it's not like I didn't know the stop sign was there.  I've gone on that road many times.  I decided it was a low blood sugar thing and so I stopped at Sonic on my way to the next location.  I didn't run any stop signs after that!

I also discovered today that there is a song cycle called "The Road Goes Ever On", with poems of JRR Tolkien!  I heard one of them, and it's really cool!  I might have to get it and learn a few!  I love me some Tolkien!

Day 34: February 3, 2011

It was like a heat wave today, and it was only 30 degrees!  I mean, come on!  That's 40 degrees warmer than yesterday!

Tonight after work turned out to be a little bit crazy.  I ended up having to drive all the way back to the theater so that I could pick up the kid Neal went snowboarding with today and take him home, because Neal had to stay at the theater to run sound for the show.  Had I known earlier that I would need to do that, I would have just stayed after work.  Oh, well.  It was my good deed for the day!

Day 33: February 2, 2011

The groundhog did not see his shadow today, so Spring is just around the corner.  THANK GOODNESS!!!  It has been so cold!!

I'm going to learn the Cio Cio San/Suzuki duet from the beginning of Act 2 of Madame Butterfly.  It's gorgeous!  I need to find a few new things to sing.  I'm tired of all my old standbys.  Luckily, I'll be getting some new music in the mail very soon.  Goldrich and Heisler Vol. 2 and the vocal selections from 9 to 5: The Musical.  I'm hoping that I can do justice to "Get Out and Stay Out", but I can't belt like Stephanie J. Block.  I'll try it out and see what happens.

Day 32: February 1, 2011

It was SO COLD today!  I doubt the temperature got much over 0.  Yowza!  Right now the weather gadget on my computer is telling me that it's -8.  So much for the 60 degree weather we had over the weekend!
