Day 89: March 30, 2011

I got up REALLY early this morning and went to the temple.  We left at 7 am and got down there by a little after 8:30.  Not bad for a weekday!  (It helps that we took 76 to 70 to C470...much better than 25!)

Worked this afternoon.

Went for a walk after dinner tonight.  Two times around the loop!  It's .7 miles to go around once, and that takes 15 minutes.  I went around twice.  I got those Sketchers Shape-Ups that are supposed to make walking a work out.  I'm going to try to walk a lot more.  I need to lose some weight!

Day 88: March 29, 2011

Not much to report today.  Except that when I was practicing the Habanera from Carmen tonight, which I am singing at a thing on Friday, I sang the entire song completely in tune!  I am having to sing it a capella on Friday, and I've been going a half step flat when I've practiced it.  But today it was in tune!  Yay!!!  Now if I could just memorize the darn thing...

Day 87: March 28, 2011

I bought some new sneakers today, even though I really can't afford them.  But they are the "Shape Ups" shoes and I'm going to start walking more.  Hopefully it helps.  I need to lose some weight!!!!

I was better off not knowing...but I found out some things about the casting of Carousel that made me sad.  I wish I was doing that show, but it's not meant to be right now.  But once again I am questioning why I can't seem to get cast in anything lately.  Boo.

Day 86: March 27, 2011

A fairly quiet day.  Went to church, started the choir on a new song for Easter, church was great, got visiting teaching done.  Then I went home and pretty much vegged for the rest of the day.  I went to bed early because I wasn't feeling very well.

Day 85: March 26, 2011

I drove over a hundred miles today.  Oy!

I drove up to Estes Park today to get a belt buckle for Shauna to give to Neal for an "opening night" present.  Then later I drove to the Timnath Wal-Mart to meet Craig and Robin and the kids to go to Disney on Ice.  Then from there I went to the Candlelight for opening night of The King and I.  Then I drove home.

It's been a busy and exhausting day!  I got up early this morning so I could get my laundry done before I went to Estes.  So now I'm BEAT!!!

Oh, and I saw some bighorn sheep along side the road up by Drake.  That was pretty cool!

Day 84: March 25, 2011

I found out today that I was not cast in Big River.  How did I find out?  Dave handed me a list of people to call to thank them for auditioning for the show but that they had not been cast.  My name was on the list.  How depressing!  I hadn't expected to get it, but still...what a bummer!!

The good news is that I found out a couple of hours before that about Up in Lights' summer show.  The Sound of Music!  I've done that show twice, once as an actor and one was the Assistant Director/Technical Director.  I'm excited to audition for this one.  I enjoy working with Up in Lights.

Tonight was the final dress rehearsal for The King and I.  I didn't watch the show (because I'm going tomorrow night), but I stayed after work to eat the food!  It's always a food tasting/buffet for the cast and staff on Final Dress night, mainly so the servers can taste all the food.  There are some very yummy things on the menu for this show!  :)

An up and down kind of day, but overall I'm feeling okay!

Day 83: March 24, 2011

Sooooooo quiet at work today!  I was actually working by myself all afternoon and handled everything with no problem.  When it's busy, it takes two people.  Not yesterday!!  I watched FIVE episodes of LOST!  FIVE!!!  I can usually watch only 2, 3 at the most!!!

Thursday, March 24, 2011

Day 82: March 23, 2011

I got to go into work late today!  I was scheduled to go in at noon, but the phones were down all morning, so I didn't end up going in until a little later.  Then the phones were quiet...even though they were working.  It's been dead.  Hopefully things will pick up once the new show opens!!!

Day 81 - March 22, 2011

Just another day of working.  And spending too much money at Kohls.  But I got some cute tops!  Hopefully I can find some new capris this year that fit and are cute.  I can't wear my favorite pair anymore, because the zipper broke.  :(

I also took more than 15 items through the self-checkout lane at King Soopers today.  Because I'm a rebel.  And because I can scan and bag my stuff faster than all those other people.  Boo-yah!!

The wind is crazy tonight!!  It's been blowing every since I left work today and it sounds like a freight train!!  I can't believe it's still blowing right now!!  5 hours!!

Day 80 - March 21, 2011

Can I just say again how nice it is to sleep in until 9:30 am on a weekday?  Yes, I'm sorely lacking in money at the moment, but I'm making up for it with sleep.  What's more important, anyway?!  Don't answer that.

Day 79 - March 20, 2011

My choir sang today at church.  We did "I am a Child of God" in 4 different languages!  French, German, Spanish, and English!  Even though I pronunciations weren't quite right on a few of the words, the whole song sounded great.  Especially the English, because we added the descant from the Children's Songbook.  Sounded fab!!

Got to go up and play with the kiddos tonight!  Benji is getting so big!  He'll be 3 weeks old on Wednesday!!

Saturday, March 19, 2011

Day 78: March 19, 2011

Tried really hard not to be depressed today, but it's hard.  I am very disappointed about Carousel.  It's a dream role, and a dream show.  I wanted it.  But I guess it wasn't in the cards.  I need to move on, but it's been hard the past several months.  I have been rejected for a bunch of shows and it's starting to take its toll on me.  I'm tried of being passed over.  I want to be right for the part.  I want to be the one they want to play the part.  Why can't it be my turn?

Day 77 - March 18, 2011

It's a long day when you're waiting for the phone to ring...and then it doesn't ring.  :(  I did not get a call from Jesters today and calls regarding casting were supposed to be made today.  I'd like to think that Scott got busy and didn't get all the calls made, but I'm sure that's not it and that I didn't get cast.  Bummer.  Dream show, dream role...still dreaming.

I took Rebekah with me to see "A Night at the Opera" tonight.  It was a great show!  Wonderful songs by Loveland Opera Theatre singers and then the very funny Marx Brothers movie.  A fun evening, and Rebekah was very well behaved!

Day 76: March 17, 2011

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!

I worked both jobs today and then went to Greeley to see Spamalot at the UCCC.  That show is SO FUNNY!!!!!!

Still waiting to hear about Big River.  Should hear about Carousel tomorrow.

Thursday, March 17, 2011

Day 75: March 16, 2011

Got my taxes back today.  I'm getting a nice refund that will help me through the next months, since my income is less than what it used to be!  Yay!!!!!

Tuesday, March 15, 2011

Day 74: March 15, 2011

I auditioned for Carousel at Jesters tonight.  I said I would only accept Carrie or Julie.  I sang "If I Loved You" and Scott had me read for Julie!  The song went well, but the reading was only okay.  I am not great at cold readings.

I am born to play Carrie, but maybe I have an actual shot at Julie!!  Who knows!!!  I'll find out in a couple of days.  Still waiting to hear about Big River.  I don't think that one is going to happen, but you never know.

Monday, March 14, 2011

Day 73: March 14, 2011

Today is Pi Day!!  I didn't eat any pie, but I did have pizza for dinner.  That's a pizza pie!!!

I got my hairs did today.  I'm so sick of gray hair.  Ugh!!!  I'm growing my hair out again, so it looks pretty much the same (just got a trim), but there are currently no gray hairs on my head!  All brown!  (And red...)

Worked the rest of the day.  Also got my tax stuff in to Dottie.  Yay for taxes....?

Day 72: March 13, 2011

It's been a long day.  It started off with me sleeping in, thanks to Daylight Savings Time.  I tried to get to bed early so that I would wake up on time, but alas, I woke up at 8:30 am.  I needed to leave early for church, so that caused the morning to be a little rushed.  But I made it to church on time and got the stuff done that I needed to get done before choir.

I gave a talk in church today.  My first since December of 2007!  I think it turned out pretty well.  It was on preparing during the week to take the Sacrament, so that it's a more meaningful experience.

We had the birthday dinner for Emily and I tonight.  I had to leave early because I had to be to the theater by 6 pm for Big River callbacks.  I think I did okay.  I made it through the dance portion virtually unscathed and I did well on the singing portion.  I didn't get to stick around for the reading, but that's not always a bad sign.  I guess I'll find out the outcome in a couple of days.  Either way, I felt good about my audition.  And that's all that really matters!!

Day 71: March 12, 2011

Today was Kinley's 1st Birthday Luau.  Lots of fun had by all and YUMMY food!!''

I also managed to get 3 loads of laundry done before going to work at noon.  Go me!!!

Friday, March 11, 2011

Day 70: March 11, 2011

Worked all day.  Saw Bye Bye Birdie with Melissa and Emily tonight.  We have started "The Birthday Girls Club".  This includes Kinley, but she's not old enough yet.  Emily decided that next year we should go to McDonalds so that Kinley can be included.  She'll be turning 2 then.

I made callbacks for Big River even though I didn't make it to my audition.  Brian asked me to come.  Cool!

Day 69: March 10, 2011

Still sick.  Stupid cold!!!!!!!  I worked for a few hours today, but it totally wiped me out!!!  This really sucks.

Wednesday, March 9, 2011

Day 68: March 9, 2011

It's my birthday!!!  If only I felt better.  Ugh.  My throat isn't hurting as bad today, but just feel....well, for lack of a better word:  blah.

I had the day off, so I took it easy this morning.  Then I went to lunch with my mom and dad.  We went to the Hob Nob.  I love it there.  Such good food, and that cream puffs are to DIE FOR!!!

I spent the afternoon at home.  I got my talk written for Sunday.

Then Shauna and I went to see the movie "Gnomeo and Juliet."  Cute movie!  Loved the Shakespeare references.  We went to Chili's after that.  I was still stuffed from lunch, so I didn't eat much.

Except for being sick, today was a pretty good day!  Got a lot of birthday wishes on Facebook, which is always nice.

Day 67: March 8, 2011

I'm still feeling sick today.  My throat really hurts!  I caught whatever crud has been going around the Candlelight.  Great....JUST great.

Brian says that I can come to callbacks for "Big River" even though I didn't make it to my audition.  I'm having a hard time deciding between "Big River" and "Carousel" (at Jesters.)  I don't want to put all my eggs in one basket, but if I have a chance to get a paying job, I need it.  I guess I'll go to call backs and see what happens.  Then I'll go to the Carousel audition on Tuesday and let them know what's going on.  I'll have faith that everything will work out the way it's supposed to!

Monday, March 7, 2011

Day 66 - March 7, 2011

I stayed home sick today.  I have a sore throat and just basically feel like crap.  I felt okay yesterday, so it came on over night.  Good times.  But this means that I missed my audition for "Big River".  I'm starting to think that it's not meant to be for me to perform in a show at the Candlelight.  I'll have to be content working in the box office.

Day 65: March 6, 2011

Got to hold baby Benji tonight.  He's such a little cutie.  He makes the funniest squeaking sound when he's getting ready to cry.  I will henceforth call him "Little Squeaker".  The other kids were hysterical.  George made me read him several stories.  The girls were dancing around to "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat", acting the whole thing out.  Oh, and they call Benji "Baby Benjermin".  CUTE!!!

Day 64: March 5, 2011

I learned a valuble life lesson this morning.  Well, two actually.  The first was to make sure that my car windows are totally cleared off before I drive off on a cold morning.  It was kinda hard to drive.  The 2nd lesson was to fully chew Pop Tarts before swallowing.  These two lessons came in combination.  Here's the story:

I had to get up earlier than usual so that I could get to the Stake Center by 8 am.  I was running a little behind, and, of course, there was frost all over my car.  I scraped it off, but when I drove off, the window fogged up.  I didn't want to stop to clean it off some more, so I just leaned to the right to see out of the one clear patch on the window.  At the same time, I was eating a Pop Tart.  Leaning to the side, combined with eating too fast caused the Pop Tart to get stuck in my esophagus.  I had turned onto 57th St. and really couldn't see out of the window and suddenly I was in pain from the stuck Pop Tart.  I managed to turn the car onto Monroe and pulled over to the side of the road.

*NOTE:  The squeamish to stop reading now.*

I grabbed my water bottle (I'm so thankful I had it!) and tried to drink the water to make the Pop Tart go down.  The first drink didn't work, so I took a second drink.  I wouldn't say that I threw up, but my esophagus definitely rejected the water, which I gagged all over my passenger seat.  My eyes were watering, and I was choking.  I took a few deep breaths and drank a little more water.  The Pop Tart went down.  I took a minute to regain my composure and then drove on.

*NOTE:  Okay, Squeamish...you can read again.*

The Relief Society Summit was great today!  I enjoyed singing in the Instant Choir.  The classes were great!

A good morning, except for the whole Pop Tarts thing.

Day 63: March 4, 2011

Happy Noah's Ark Day!

I went to see "Anything Goes" at Loveland High School tonight.  Great show!  Continuing the long-standing tradition of theatrical excellence at LHS!  It was fun to see the kids that I know in that show.  They all did a fabulous job!

Day 62: March 3, 2011

He's here!  Benjamin Keith Cecil Johnson was born last night at about 11:00 pm.  He was 6 lbs. 9 oz. and has blond hair!  (The other kids were born with dark hair and then turned light.  Maybe he'll do the opposite?)

He's as cute as a button and a pretty mellow kid.  He hasn't cried much.  He even did okay while being manhandled by his siblings.

I'm going to call him Benji.  Probably for his entire life.  I hope he doesn't mind!

Here's a picture of the little cutie pie:

Day 61: March 2, 2011

A panicky kind of day.  We thought the baby was coming, but he didn't make his appearance.  Guess we'll get to meet him tomorrow!  Had a blast playing with the kids, though.  Rebekah serenaded us at dinner with a variety of showtunes.  Some of which, George sang along with.  Priceless!!

Day 60: March 1, 2011

I watched two versions of the same movie, one after another tonight.  I got the DVD of the Masterpiece version "A Room with a View".  I really liked it up until the end, which was horribly depressing!  I was reading some of the viewer reviews on Netflix, and people were saying that it didn't hold a candle to the movie from the 1980s that won all kinds of Academy Awards.  It was available for instant viewing on Netflix, so I watched it.  The end wasn't depressing, but I liked the other one better (except for the horrible ending, which I discovered was not in the book!)

The fact that I have time to watch 2 versions of the same movie in a row proves that I have no life.  The fact that I would actually do such a thing proves that I'm a nerd.  Yep...that's how I roll.
